Job Overview:
Mission Samriddhi is a Design Thinking-led Social Impact Platform focused on holistic and sustainable rural development through the empowerment of Gram Panchayats. For a truly robust economy, we are focussing on our villages, building their capabilities and exploring opportunities for sustainable development.We are seeking an experienced professional for the role of Program Consultant - Livelihoods and Linkages, focusing on the Vidarbha region and central India. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the agri-commodity industry, a strong network of connections across industry buyers, and a deep understanding of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and their management. This position offers an opportunity to significantly impact agricultural market dynamics.
The incumbent will be responsible for guiding and supporting FPOs, forging market connections for smallholder farmers, coordinating with various stakeholders such as agri-preneurs and government bodies, and identifying and executing market opportunities. The role involves engaging with buyers, processors, and exporters in the agri-commodity sector, ensuring quality compliance, and advising on post-harvest practices.
Apart from the above efforts to energise FPOs, the incumbent would need to look at ways and methodologies to really catalyse rural livelihoods and transform villages into economic engines of our country’s growth. Although agri-based livelihoods would constitute a major portion of the work, other fields allied to agriculture, as well as those involving forest produce would need to be encouraged. This would necessitate strong experience in implementing sustainable livelihoods - inspiration, capacity building, hand holding, market linkages - for village entrepreneurs, SHGs and Collectives. Experience in the design and development of such interventions, and the implementation of behavioral change programs in rural India that have led to achievement of specified outcomes - qualitative and quantitative, would be a huge added plus.
Requirements:
Experience and expertise in wide-ranging activities that have energized rural communities, and have a proven track record in building sustainable village-based incomes
Possess strategic planning and stakeholder management skills, along with a proven track record in agricultural market dynamics and FPO development.
At least 8 years relevant experience.
